Have you ever been obsessed?
Posted by Cindy at 5:49 pm in Marketing on Line

Have you ever been so obsessed with something that it literally
takes over and you get in the mind set of..
“Whatever it takes”.

Some people call it an obsession others called it desire
and other call it just plain silly.

Which 2 of those traits is needed to be among the 3% that succeed in this
wonderful business of internet marketing?

All that you have heard is true about this being a tough business.
A few things to keep in mind…
Lets examine these 3 ponder points.
#1 About that learning curve…

I can speak to that with first hand knowledge. When I started in this
business of earning an income working from home. I had very limited
computer skills. Let me tell you how limited…
I didn’t know how to copy and paste with a mouse. I know pretty silly
I am snickering as I think about how much I didn’t know.

But learning this business is no different than any other business.
Just as a doctor, a lawyer, a brick layer, a plumber, a carpet installer
had to LEARN their craft so does someone who wants to make money
from home with an on line internet business.

I am not sure why people do not understand that.
To me that is just so clear.
You must understand going in that there is a learning curve depending not
only upon your level of computer skills but also about advertising and
marketing in general. Some will progress more quickly than others.

#2 You have to have an attitude of “whatever it takes”
You can’t be a quitter… so many quit to soon.

#3 Surround yourself with people who have the same “whatever it takes”
attitude. Don’t give negative people the chance to mess with your mind.
Negative people are like a cancer… they have a tendency to spread
their tentacles if allowed. They need a biopsy!! and some need total
removal.

I can see things so clear..
But then I am obsessed.
I have a “what -ever-it-take” attitude.
I have surrounded myself with people who think as I do.

And… I have master copy and pasting.

How about you?
I am sure you can add to the list.

I feel like Thomas Edison
Posted by Cindy at 5:47 pm in Marketing on Line

How many times did Thomas Edison fail before there was light
in that light bulb?

The story goes that it was on the 1000 attempt that the bulb lit up.
But the first 999 attempts were really not considered failures,
it was just that it didn’t work doing it the other ways.

You just gotta love an attitude like that.

For the past 4 weeks I have been working on getting light into a
light bulb… so to speak. I have been so focused my head hurts.

Finally it was time for the test. I did my best
I had everything in place just as I thought it should be.
With the agreement to myself that if it didn’t work I would
let it go and simply MOVE ON…

I pushed all the buttons and went to bed.
I actually couldn’t wait to get up in the morning to check on
my results. On the other hand… knowing that if the results
were not there I would be moving on.

I pulled up the website and…
CRAP… ZIP… ZERO…NADA…
A BIG Fat NOTHING!!!!!!

Gotta laugh, other wise I may cry.
4 weeks worth of work and not a thing to show for it.

Am I pissed?
Am I upset?
Am I mad?

Naw.. none of the above.
Perhaps “disappointed” is the word.

But…
I know I did my very best and my brilliant plan didn’t
work out as I had envisioned it would.

So…
I deleted a WHOLE bunch of stuff and I have moved on.
Had I of NOT tried what I did I would have always wondered
if that particular plan would have worked.

Now I know, for me it didn’t work. Not to say another time
another place. But as for now I am going to work on
something else.

I am NOT quitting…not by any means. I am looking at that
particular plan as one of those 999 ways that I was NOT able
to get light into the bulb I was working on. I am simply moving
onto #1000

I am going to take a couple of aspirin first.
I wonder how many aspirin Thomas Edison went through?

What if it ALL Vanished?
Posted by Cindy at 5:44 pm in Marketing on Line

I have to admit if the electricity goes out or the cable
goes off… I am at a LOSS!

I know I am an addicted..
If your honest you’ll admit it too.

Even if there was nothing pressing I had to use the
computer for it is just simply KNOWING that I would be
able to use it if I wanted to. I could simply sit at my desk
and continue with a project that I had been working on.

BUT… What if ALL of what was on your computer VANISHED???

Computers crash, virus sneak in and take over. What if your laptop
were lost or stolen? Do you have a back up plan?

I do… it is called Mosy.
It is my back up plan.. just incase the unexpected happens
to my computer.

I know I would be able to get back all that is stored on my computer
for as little as 5 Bucks a month.

Are you able to say that?
Cindy

Mosy… Just in case.

Here is a Riddle for you…
Posted by Cindy at 5:40 pm in Marketing on Line

What is the difference between a cartoonist
a columnist and a blogger?

Hmmmmm……?

The answer is… NOTHING!!

Do you read the funnies? I do but I only read a couple.
I am so bummed that Cathy is no longer around, Now there
was a gal that I could really relate to.
Family Circus.. is another that I read. Those kids will never grow up.
Some of the ones that I use to read I no longer find humorous anymore
“THEY” must have changed… what do you think?

I like getting our local Monroe Evening Newspaper on Sundays.
We have a couple of writers in the Sunday edition that I make a
point to read. One has a great sense of humor and the other has
great insight into things that seem mundane. But he has a way of
looking at things that after his insight you will never see
them as mundane again.

OK OK so.. what’s a blogger?
A blogger is a columnist, one that could write about anything.
Could be fact, could be fiction, could be insightful, may even be
humorous. The point being a blogger writes and wants people to read what
they have written.

A columnist or a cartoonist will only remain in the paper if enough
readers actually read it. The space is just much to valuable to be wasted
on “non-readership”.

With that being said…
If your a blogger are you just wasting space or are you actually writing
content that people want to read? AND…. come back and read your next post
as well? Just as I look forward to reading my 2 local columnist each Sunday.

Brilliant Marketing TIP
Posted by Cindy at 5:39 pm in Marketing on Line

I just thought this was such a great marketing idea
I just had to share it with you.

I was shopping last week and I had to use the store restroom.
I walked into the stall and turned to lock the door…
There hanging on the hook that is meant to hold your coat
or your purse was an Avon Book with a sample in a clear
plastic bag….

Now mind you I don’t buy Avon, It had been years since
I had even looked at an Avon book but…
while I was sitting and looking at that clear plastic bag
with and Avon Book and a sample, I thought well if I don’t
take it someone else will

So I did….I gave it to my Mother-in-Law to look at,
She has marked off several items of what she would like.
I asked her if she was ready for me to place her order
And she told me she was not done shopping in it yet.
She has not even let ME look at it yet.

Do you think that was a brilliant marketing idea?

I have a blog called… YouCanEatMyDirt.Com

I printed business cards with that written on it.
People are curious to know WHY???? anyone would
want to eat dirt.

Several years ago I purchased cards that when folded looked
just like $100.00 bills. I put a web address on them and stuck
them or dropped them. It is a good idea to place
tracking on stuff like that so you will know if it works or
it does not.

Of course I would like to think I am brilliant but let me
do a fess up here…
I printed off 1000 cards for a project I was doing and I spelled
the word Website without the “b” it read Wesite.

Now you know I looked at the thing 100 times.
I had to play till I had everything centered. I sent it to a friend
of mine… she too thought it was brilliant. Then I sent it to
another friend and he said what is a wesite? Of course I had no
what he was talking about. But.. I never passed out another card.
So I have about 950 cute cards that I use for notes and reminders.
I always hope they never leave the house.

After all who would want to do business with a person who can’t
spell? To me it was very Unprofessional.

Can’t see the forest for the trees comes to mind.

I got my name for good reason,
Silly Cindy

These Gals are Master List Builders
Posted by Cindy at 5:43 pm in Marketing on Line

We hear it again and again. Perhaps it is repeated so often because it is so true…
It is all in the list!

I want to tell you about 2 master list builders.
Annie and Margret.
These gals know how to build lists.

I have been on both Annie and Margret’s lists for many years. These 2 gals have one thing in common. There are both cashiers at different stores where I shop.

I have often wrote about how much I enjoy shopping at Target. The Target store I always shop at is in Monroe, Michigan. This is where I first met Annie.

Annie is a delightful older woman. Over the years I have learned many things about Annie, her children and her grandchildren. I have also learned about her husband, he is semi-retired. They both love to garden. How she came from a very large family. She grew up a bit north of Monroe. Her mother raised her and her siblings mostly by herself after her father died at a very young age.

Now mind you I know Annie not because we ever went out to lunch together or have we ever had a phone conversation….. It is all because I am on her list.

Margret is another fine list builder. Margret works at the Kroger store in Dundee, Michigan. She has worked there for many many years. I have had the pleasure of being on her list for almost all of those years.

I know that Margret and her husband both enjoy going to the casino. I like hearing about their trips that they take. You can tell by the way Margret talks that they enjoy each others company and look forward to their casino trips together. Margret is also a bowler… and gosh when they go out of town on a bowling tournament you can bet those gals find a great casino to visit.

Once again I have never gone to lunch with Margret but it is because I am on her list.

Whenever these gals are working I always get into their checkout lines. It doesn’t matter that these lines may have more people in them. Nor does it matter that the people in line may have lots of items in their carts…

None of that matter, because these gals are master list builders. They have both developed a loyal following.

I was in Annie’s line one day and a new checker was opening her line. She went to the gal in front of me and told her if she stepped over to her line she would check her out. The gal politely told her, “no thanks. I’m waiting for Annie.” I had to snicker to myself because she next asked me to step to her line and she would check me out. I too told her, “no thanks, I’ll wait for Annie as well.

No one can tell me that both Annie and Margret and not master list builders.

Over the years while going through that process of “checking out” I make it a point to go to Annie and Margret lines because I genuinely want to keep up with what is happening.

These gals must have taken the Magnetic Sponsoring course.. It is all about attraction marketing. People seek THEM out.

Both Target and Kroger are lucky to have gals like these working for them.

It is the same when you go to your favorite restaurant and ask to be seated in the station that your favorite waitress will be taking care of you. She too has built a list.

It all comes down to list building. I have subscribed to both Margret’s and Annie’s list because…
I know, like and trust them.

Building your list should be no different.
